Apple strudel cake
A good old fashioned sponge cake which reflects the flavours of a classic apple strudel by layering sponge with apple and topped with a traditional strudel filling of apples, nuts, lemon and cinnamon and a crunchy streusel topping.
This cake is good at any time of the day and can be served warm with custard, cream or ice cream as a very satisfying end to a meal.
